The youth of Abbotsford spent their time after-school taking part in extra-curriculars, hanging out in the popular parts of town and also taking part in various youth programs. In 1978, the youth were introduced to a new program where they could spend time with other youth after-school and on the weekends. The Abbotsford Air Cadets, officially known as the Royal Canadian Air Cadets Silverfox 861, was established in 1978 as a youth-focused program. This youth program is an army program that is open to everyone and aims to instill various skills and qualities that will help the youth in their future. This website explores the beginnings  of the Abbotsford Air Cadets and follows its journey through the years. You may wonder: Do all youth in this program pursue a career in the army? What are the various activities that the youth take part in? Over the years, how have the youth in this program benefited from joining? These questions are explored throughout the website and more information is given about the Abbotsford Air Cadets; a program that has been successfully offered to Abbotsford youth for over 40 years!
